About Tanja"I have always loved animals from as far back as I can remember, and horses and dogs in particular. I remember being three and my Grandpa Munt taking me out to see a friend's horses. My Grandma chose to stay in the car away from the big smelly animals. ;) Grandpa took me by the hand and we walked towards two horses in the field. As I realized how big they were close up, I started to hang back. I hadn't seen real horses that close up before. Grandpa picked me up in his arms and the horses came over to us. They could have been anywhere in that pasture, but chose to come to us. Grandpa showed me that big beautiful deep dark eye and the wisdom and caring it holds. He had me smell the grass on their muzzle as I gave them a kiss, tickled by their whiskers. Then he showed me the softest place just behind their ear. That day cemented a life time love. I will forever be grateful."

How I got here |
I was raised in the city of Swift Current and we really didn't have animals growing up. I started by trying to get close to horses and dogs any time and any where I could. I read as many books as I could. In fact, I still read a lot of books.
I was blessed to have an Aunt and Uncle who included me in their life at their dairy with their three girls. Horses, dogs, cattle, chickens, pigs. So blessed! I spent three years in 4H light horse. I borrowed horses to show in the local fair and to take clinics. After high school, I spent two years at Lakeland College working specifically with horses and taking classes with other animals too. At college, I became a CEF riding instructor, competed in college rodeo and trained a two year old colt from the ground up under the tutelage of Bill Conrad and Gary Cooper. I have taken many clinics and courses. More than I can remember. I am committed to being a lifelong learner and am always excited to learn more. My desire to learn is not limited to horses, but it sure does help keep my attention if they are involved or can be related to the subject matter. :D Barrel racing clinics, horsemanship clinics, natural horsemanship clinics, cutting clinics, equine massage clinics, track and field coaching clinics, lifeguarding, first aid and cpr, I am aware that if I can get one thing out of a clinic or course, it was totally worth my time. Sometimes, it is an awareness of how I may choose something different that what was presented. I have taken my Touch for Health levels 1-4, body management 1 and pet and equine therapy, I have been a swimming instructor, coached track and field, taught Microsoft Office products and accounting programs like Simply Accounting and QuickBooks and been a 4H leader. I have been blessed with working with the Calgary Stampede, in the cutting horse, Saddlebred, Arabian horse industries as well as having horses most of my life. To put it simply, I have done a lot of stuff. |
Continuous Evolution |
Halfway through 2013, I first learned of Glenyce Hughes, and joined an online telecall. This was my first interaction with Access Consciousness. I spent the next few days dancing around singing the clearing statement. I worked through what life would be like if I could have no animals in it. It was a very uncomfortable process that involved a lot of crying.
However, it opened a door for me and I was interested in more. I am so thankful to Glenyce Hughes and so many others, you know who you are. I wouldn't be here without you and I am so thankful. It has been a launchpad to being open to so many more things, spaces and consciousness that I had never imagined! I also need to thank my super supportive son, Dalton, who always believes in me. Thank you to the animals that have chose me, you have and are such a huge contribution. Every day is a work in progress. If I can do it, so can you! Who knows what else is possible that we haven't even imagined? What do you know, that if you shared it, would change the world? Whose lives could you change with play? |
